The Lucky Collection has truly been one of the best projects I have worked on thus far this year.
Creating the Hank & Dolly rings alongside a brand I adore (with the best people you can imagine) and shooting one of the biggest campaigns has all felt very ‘pinch me’.
The planning for the shoot started months prior in spring. It was going to be my first time ever working with a stylist, there were talks of me going on a horse (I said I’d decide on this based on the aura of the horse on the day – needless to say, we got on well but I still don’t know their star-sign) & the TGF team were seeking a property with vast ranch-like space & (ideally) zillions of cacti.
Fast forward to July. We shot the collection at a private property around 30 minutes inland from Los Angeles. It was a mighty 35 Degrees Celsius that day, with not even the hint of a breeze. I used all my inner goth powers to tell myself I wasn’t warm: it semi-worked. The team powered through whilst doing their upmost to keep me as cool as possible – when the sun went down for the last hours, many audible sighs of relief could be heard (the shoot itself was from approx 2pm – 10pm).
Immensely grateful to everyone at TGF & the crew on the day…what a moment I will remember forever.
Two days after the shoot day we celebrated with a launch party at the TGF Melrose store: this was a really fun one. A great energetic crew of people with the best energy, it was an absolute pleasure to meet & hang out…I love the informality of these events & this was a busy lively one. With music blasting, custom pink iced LUCKY, HANK, DOLLY donuts, a bar serving cocktails, gift bags for the first thirty through the door (these included some fav NYX make-up items, HANK & DOLLY TGF x Sammi stickers – & one lucky soul won a HANK ring) – it was a blast.
