It’s not every day you get the opportunity to travel to the other side of the world.
Truly one of the most insane work situations I have ever found myself in, working with the Australian Visit Victoria Tourism board. Plans for this started in January around 5 weeks before we (my ever lovely agent Marnie & I) were meant to leave. With an incredible schedule including attending the Grand Prix (my first F1 race outside of England!!) my mind naturally started to plan outfits.
The joy of being warm this early in the year was a delight, as was the Australian hospitality. A true country vs city girl (overall – although I do love a few days in a city) I especially adored Mornington Peninsula. We stayed at Jackalope & had the most tranquil 48 hours there. It’s only an hour or so outside of Melbourne & is beyonddd worth the teeny bit of travel.
I’ll get into outfits, but for any questions on the trip – do leave a comment.

No matter the weather, it’s likely I will have a jacket. Sun protection is high on my daily list – alongside jackets being one of my most favourite clothing items. This incredible denim Schiaparelli number features the most intricate golden buttons (in true Schiaparelli style) with a safari-jacket inspired silhouette. What a delight to have made the ‘Women of the Paddock’ list by Kym Illman.

Walking was a major part of our daily excursions (cranked almost 24,000 steps in one day babbby) so being comfortable was super important. A bodysuit + skort or shorts = a staple for me in warm weather, paired with lots of golden jewellery layers & a statement colourful bag.

These Gucci floral-garden print trousers (above) are a flowy, lightweight material and make for a dream to wear in the warmth. I did/do have rainbow painted toenails obvs to match. Balanced out all of the colour with a bit of suede – a fabric that has grown on me immensely over the last year or so.

Is there anything more pleasing than a warm evening whilst away?
The summer season in Australia is slowly turning to autumn, but we experienced beautiful weather (bar one day). After a jam-packed day I am all about a make-up free evening & simple dress. This polka dot halter number is a breeze to wear & an item I will def take the next time I find myself somewhere warm.

Two jackets in one is a bit of girl math that I will always get behind. I love souvenir jackets (Sukajan jackets) & nabbed this one from the men’s section at Clutch Cafe – a store I highly recommend if you ever find yourself in London. One of four (!) denim shorts I brought with on this trip, and yes – I did wear all four pairs. These are by Retrofete & have a nice lil’ extra button detail to each side above the pockets.

Ridiculously thrilled to be back home with the boys (that was by far the longest I have ever been away!!) & also beyond grateful I was able to do this – ty ty for being here,

Gucci’s trousers have been a real discovery for me; I never liked floral prints on clothes, but now I see them in a different light!
Regards, Sammi!
