in the snow

Here we are; HNY! I truly hope the first week of 2026 has treated you well.

For the first time ever we headed out of England just after Christmas & spent NYE in a very snowy chalet in France with friends. It really was a beautiful short & sweet trip; filled with stunning views, crisp air & excellent company. The boys spent most of their time snowboarding – I, however, was very much there for the more apres-ski situations – and of course, outfits.

My hefty Feb 2025 purchase of this oversized zebra faur-fur coat by The Attico became the hero of the trip for me. Couldn’t have been more perfect tbh, keeping me snuggly warm at all times. The immense size of it meant I did have to travel wearing it – this wasn’t the worst case scenario as it doubled as a blanket.

Layering is key: it may be minus ten outside, but inside some places semi-over compensate for the icy cold – so you need to ensure you can remove layers (think onion). As a turtleneck fan, I have a few in different materials/sheerness-ness/knits.

It’s an item I never spend a great deal of cash on. A black turtleneck layered over a vest & light bralette was a go-to in the daytime (plus aforementioned massive coat ofc).

SHOP TURTLENECKS:

The Prada nylon snow-boots have been on my wish-list for two years.

Just patiently waiting for a snow moment like this trip, where they felt somewhat justified in being added to cart. I hate to type this..alas, I adore them. I’m sure they are v. similar to non-branded snow-boots & it’s that Prada triangle that causes an extra $800 to be added to the price. Regardless – I LOVE THEM. They didn’t require any breaking in, not once did I have cold toes or feet – & they are the most snuggly pair of shoes I own.

I bought my usual size (EU 37/UK 4) & wore thick socks too.
