UNHINGED A/W WISH-LIST

For the first time in a few years England has had a summer. A proper, wearing-shorts-often summer. I cannot deny – I have absolutely loved it. I’ve had zero yearnings to hop on a plane & have embraced every moment, even when I am about to utter the words ‘it’s a bit warm’.

Whilst summer truly has some life in her yet, I am looking ahead to the immensely delightful season that is autumn – alongside it being Libra season ofc. As I always say – it’s the best time of year for outfits. I’ve screenshot & saved some phenomenal pieces recently that I felt a blog post dedicated to them was in order. As per the title – these are mega pieces that I find truly inspiring.

SCHIAPARELLI

A brand that offers the most immersive experience, Schiaparelli have really been on my radar for autumn-winter. A luxury fashion house that started in the 1930’s, their continuous nods to their roots and inclusion of jewellery aesthetics within their ready-to-wear are truly stand out. I adore the silhouettes and cuts of their garments. It feels like it’s made for a modern style-obsessed woman that also has a penchant for vintage – and a modern woman with a very healthy bank balance, no less.

Utterly obsessed with the use this season of hefty belts, and the new handbags are something else: absolute works of art. The look-books have me feeling so inspired…I would genuinely wear at least half of the looks on the school run.

SAINT LAURENT PATENT BOOTS

Saint Laurent footwear has been consistently in my wish-list for years.

Whilst I don’t always succumb, there are always items I would very happily add to cart. This autumn-winter, the boots are truly boot-ing. A platform is something I always seek as I (pretty much) refuse to wear an uncomfortable shoe, unless I am stepping from a car into a venue. I like to know that should I need or desire to walk ten thousand steps, that I physically can.

Patent leather does things to my soul.

These ‘Billy’ boots crafted from patent supple leather have a solid platform and heel. I imagine them paired with a pleated mini & oversized knit, and lots of stacked jewellery. Yes yes please.

R13 VELVET OVERSIZED SHIRT

If the 90’s calls, I shall always answer.

r13 is a brand that needs no introduction from me as I have shouted from the rooftops about them for countless years. Their Jump boots are for sure my most worn boots of all time. Idk how many people are spending this kinda cash on distressed 90’s grunge-esque items, but apparently I am one of them. The notable ‘thing’ with r13 is this – the cuts and fabrics are REALLY, really there. They don’t select just your run-of-the-mill plaid. The way the arms have been cut on a shirt is exactly how I would want them to be. The fit is perfectly oversized. The colours are often less-commercial in choice.

This velvet shirt with a nod to your grandma’s curtains has a deeply 90’s romantic feel that makes me want to watch The Craft and light a candle or five immediately. The long-line length makes it a perfect transitional piece, with moody colour-ways reminiscent of autumn.

I may have just talked myself into adding this to my basket & checking it the hell out.

BOTTEGA VENETA SUEDE CLUTCH

Somewhat surprisingly, I only started wearing suede last year. In true obsessive style, I now can’t get enough of it.

The Bottega clutch has been seen by every fashion-style-curious eyeball, but…in suede? With immaculate gold-knot hardware? Ugh. It is living the life it was meant to live and I will happily give it a home to reside in.

This under the arm of an oversized leather jacket gives me all the autumn feels in the best way.

MARLA AARON PIERCELESS EAR CUFF

As you may be aware if you follow me on all/any platforms, I am a jewellery maximalist. I have countless brands and pieces I am head-over-heels in love with. I wear my jewellery all year round, but as we enter cooler months, there’s even more reason to. Rings can get a little tight during summer and when we’re in the depths of autumn-winter, sometimes the only part of your outfit that gets seen is the coat you’ve been unable to take off. Therefore, picture this: a major stacked ear with the sparkliest diamonds that can be seen no matter the season. Adore this ‘pierce-less’ ear cuff from Marla Aaron that can be hooked onto the side of your ear to sparkle the day away.

MIU MIU LEATHER JACKET

Hands down my favourite ready-to-wear category is outerwear. This goth soul could not handle living somewhere where my jacket collection wouldn’t see the light of day. A jacket completes an outfit.

Miu Miu’s clothing…ugh, I could spend an absolute fortune. For me, so many of their pieces are so wearable & would slot so seamlessly into my day-to-day wardrobe. I first spied this jacket early this year and it has continued to stay in the little style-obsessed segment of my brain. The slightly brown-toned black gives it an aged feel without being too obvious, and the hefty nappa leather evokes an ‘I will be with you forever’ vibe.

The length is supreme going beyond the waist, which imo is perfect for autumn – and I love the large side pockets and front pocket details.

Are there any unhinged, major pieces you have been dreaming about for the upcoming season? lmk in the comments.

…enjoy the last of those summer rays.
